DARBATREAT
Overview :
DARBATREAT contains Darbepoetin alfa (40mcg/0.4ml) solution for Injection in Single-dose Pre-filled Syringe (PFS) for Subcutaneous or Intravenous Use Only. DARBATREAT (Darbepoetin alfa) is available on dose strengths: 40mcg/0.4mL. DARBATREAT (Darbepoetin alfa) injection is used to treat anaemia in chronic renal failure patients, both on and off dialysis.

Each Single-dose Pre-filled Syringe (PFS) contains Darbepoetin alfa 40mcg/0.4mL
Mode of Action :
Darbepoetin alfa is in a class of medications called erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). It works by causing the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones where blood is made) to make more red blood cells. It is a glycoprotein hormone that regulates erythropoiesis by acting on erythropoietin receptors in bone marrow progenitor cells. Its production occurs mainly in the kidneys and is influenced by oxygen levels in tissues. Patients with chronic renal failure experience anemia primarily due to erythropoietin deficiency.
Indication:
- Treatment of Renal Amaemic patients on dialysis and not on dialysis.
- Treatment of anemia in people who are receiving chemotherapy
- Treatment of anemia due to zidovudine in patients with HIV-infection.
